Labels: blog, etude house, korean, laneige, the body shop, wishlist Review ~ 3DS XL pink/white!
Thursday, July 25, 2013 2 comment(s) Hi! Around two weeks ago now, Taekyung and I purchased the Nintendo 3DS XL in pink/white! Ahh! It was my birthday present from him and I payed a little towards it, he's too nice and shouldn't have spent that much on me. ;w; But he knew I really wanted one (and he wanted to play too!). I was so excited to get one because it's something I've wanted for a while and seeing the new release of Animal Crossing New Leaf made me want one even more!
We purchased both the 3DS XL and Animal Crossing game from Target.
Look how pretty it is! The lighting doesn't do it much justice, sorry. As you can see there's two cameras on the front, one is for taking photos in 3D and one is for taking photos in 2D. There's also a camera in the middle of the top screen on the inside which I think is a nice feature. The camera quality isn't great unfortunately, but it's still nice.
I also LOVE the consoles texture. It isn't shiny and doesn't pick up fingerprints, but instead soft and feels nice in your hands.
And this is what it looks like when you open it up. Everything is placed nicely and the design is just so clean and simple. On the left bottom half you can see the circle pad (allowing analog control) and the + control pad. To the right is the Y, X, A, B buttons and below that the POWER button. Then conveniently in the middle is SELECT, HOME, START. Also on the left side of the console is the slider that controls the volume, and on the right side the slider that controls wireless!
The top half of the console features the camera and the all important 3D depth slider! I have problems with my eyes that don't allow me to see 3D (as in 3D at the movies and a lot of optical illusions) so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see the 3D, but I can! And it's amazing! Haha. If you're the same you'll be able to see this! I wouldn't recommend keeping the 3D feature on for too long though as it can hurt your eyes. You can turn the 3D all the way up, or not have it on at all so you can play normally in 3D.
The box!
One of the main reasons we wanted to get the 3DS XL and not just the regular 3DS, was because of the size. As you can see as advertised on the box, the screens are 90% larger with the XL! When we were in Target, we tried playing on the normal 3DS and had no regrets whatsoever in purchasing the XL as the whole gaming experience really is so much better on the larger console. The screen seemed so tiny and the graphics didn't appear as clear.. It just was a disappointment compared to the one we purchased. Also although the XL is bigger, it doesn't feel bulky in our hands and it doesn't feel too heavy either.
Another really nice feature about this console is the holes on each size that allow you to add charms and such! I think this is nice as you can then personalize your 3DS more and I really want to find a cute plush or something with a cellphone strap so I can attach it to the side. At the bottom you can also plug in your headphones!
I really love this console and I'm so glad I own one. I play it every day with Taekyung on Animal Crossing and two days ago we also got Mario 3D Land! I think it's definitely worth the money!

Labels: 3DS, animal crossing, blog, otherreview, Review Juju Jellies review - Turquoise Maxi
Monday, July 22, 2013 3 comment(s) Annyeong~ First of all, I'm sorry! I said that I was going to blog regularly (and it's been a while oops) but I've been pretty busy lately and I should have more time now. I've wrote a list of things I want to blog about, so stay tuned! This post is going to be a review on Juju Jelly Maxi shoes in the color Turquoise. I'm sure many of you will recognize these shoes and start to feel nostalgic if you had a similar pair when you were a child (I had glittery pink ones) and I think this is part of the reason why I like them so much. I feel like jelly shoes are a go to example for 1990's styled footwear and they're definitely becoming more popular and sparking up more interest. Juju is a british company and their shoes are harder to find outside of the UK, however I've found them in the US at Urban Outfitters, Topshop and American Apparel. Other British sites do ship internationally though, for example Debenhams which is where I ordered mine from (well actually my friend ordered them for me as a birthday present heh).
Aren't they cute? I originally wanted the light pink color in the same style, but they ran out of my size. ;_; it's okay though because I really like this color too.
When I first saw these shoes I admit I thought they weren't so attractive and felt like they would just rub against my bare feet causing problems - because you know generally you wear sandals without socks - but then I started to see pictures online on fashion blogs etc. of people who were wearing them with socks, and I thought it actually looked really cute! And after looking through lots of pictures, the shoes started to grow on me and I started to really want a pair. Granted they don't go with everything, but I really like how they look on, and I pretty much always wear them with socks.
COMFORT
Surprisingly comfy! <- (with socks).
I find that these shoes do press against my feet a little too hard when I'm not wearing socks, and they rub when I walk. However I've wore these shoes all day several times with socks and I've had no problem. I wouldn't recommend you walk around constantly all day in them though, because I did that and got two blisters.
SIZE
When buying these shoes I would say buy the size LOWER than the size you usually buy, because the sizes run big and I've read this from several different sources online. My shoes are too big for me, but I decided that as they don't really rub too much and are comfortable that I'd keep them (and they didn't have any smaller sizes). I didn't get to try mine on as I ordered them online, but if you're buying them from the store you should definitely try them first. Also remember that if you're buying online from a UK store and don't live in the UK, the shoe sizes are different so you should check you're ordering the correct size.
With socks~ (bad quality as screenshot from my Instagram)
Without socks~
I like to pair these shoes with an overalls dress I have (overalls but with a skirt instead of pants) and I think they also work well with skater skirts and high waisted shorts. Overall, I would have bought these shoes if they weren't a gift and I'm glad I own a pair! I've had quite a few compliments and I just think they're really cute and great for summer. I hope you enjoyed this review! Check out the Juju Jelly website -> http://jujushoes.co.uk Follow me on bloglovin'! -> yohanicat I'll follow you back if I like your blog.
Review~ Tony Moly - Peach Anti-Aging Hand Cream
Monday, June 10, 2013 2 comment(s)
So this is my first review post and it's going to be on Tony Moly's Peach Anti-Aging Hand Cream!
Tony Moly is a popular beauty brand in Korea in case you haven't heard of it before, so you wouldn't really find this product at your local store (outside of Asia); however this product is readily available online.
I purchased this from Kocomall where it's currently only $4.64! (<- click). I seriously recommend buying from here. Prices vary on different websites so it all depends where you want to purchase from, but here are some other places (Link will direct you to product): YesStyle, Sasa, and obviously there's ebay~
DESCRIPTION:
Adenosine- Anti wrinkle functioning ingredient Peach extract- improves skin elasticity, anti-wrinkle, improves dry skin Apricot extract- Anti-aging, crackles, whitening, soothing skin, moisturizing.
Now, onto the actual review!
So when you first open up the peach, there's a thin plastic lid which stops the cream from escaping and I think this is really nice as you don't have to worry about it leaking when the cream rolls around in your bag.
When I removed the plastic lid I could smell the cream straight away and gosh really it smelt SO GOOD. I'm sensitive to things that are heavily scented, but this was no problem for me at all and I seriously couldn't stop smelling it for like five minutes haha. It's a really fresh and sweet peachy smell.
The cream is a light pink color (I apologize for the bad lighting by the way!). When I took this picture I'd probably used it around 10 times already, so I do feel like you get a decent amount. The pot isn't particularly deep but I feel like the cream will last me around 2 months at a guess because you don't need to apply too much.
SWATCH~
Here I just took some cream out of the pot with my finger and put a sensible amount on the back of my hand. The cream feels quite thick and not light like you would expect (I think it looks like it would be light?) and is pretty rich. This is the amount of cream I use and is enough to cover both hands.
After rubbing in the cream~ The cream feels soft as soon as you start rubbing it in and is instantly moisturizing, I have quite dry hands and this works well for me. It starts sinking into your skin straight away and doesn't feel horrible and sticky afterwards, but really soft.
For me, I can honestly see good results as soon as the cream has all been rubbed in. It makes my skin LOOK smoother and softer, as well as feeling smoother and softer. There is also a slight shine that stays on your hands. The scent doesn't vanish straight away either which is nice because like I said, it smells so good! I don't really have wrinkles on my hands but because I have dry hands you can see lines I guess?.. and these do look more 'filled' once the cream is applied. As for whitening, I can't say much for that but with continued use it could build up more.
FINAL VERDICT:
Good points
~ Definitely Moisturizing/soothing
~ Suitable for sensitive skin
~ Noticeably softer skin
~ Improves dryness
~ Lovely scent!
(Honestly for me there aren't really any bad points! But these could be for other people)
Bad points
~ Doesn't noticeably whiten skin
~ Slight shine could bother some people
Overall score: 8.5/10
Thank you for reading!
